Annette Kelly - Speech and Language Therapist
Annette Kelly qualified as a Speech Pathologist in 1991 after completing her training at La Trobe University, Melbourne (Australia).

She recently completed an MSc in Swallowing Research at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK).
She is currently Lead Clinician for the speech and language therapy head and neck service at University College London.

Her clinical and research interests include normal swallowing, instrumental assessment of swallowing, and the effects of trans-oral laser resection, airway reconstruction and radiotherapy on communication, voice and swallowing outcomes.

Annette has published papers on the management of swallowing difficulties in head and neck cancer patients and is a Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) Clinical Speciality Advisor for head and neck and dysphagia.

Annette chaired the committee which produced the RCSLT policy for Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing in the UK and was involved in the development of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for both head and neck cancer and nutrition.
